This afternoon, the church of San Isidro Labrador hosted the celebration of the centenary of the arrival of the Blessed Sacrament in El Ejido. The Holy Mass was officiated by Don Alexander Estupiñán.
Councilmembers Delia Mira, Elena Gómez, Manuel Martínez, Carmen Ruiz and Bernardo Robles have accompanied the neighbors and devotees who have gathered in the parish.
The commemoration began with the procession of the Blessed Sacrament, on the new throne of the Immaculate Child, from the courtyard of the Divina Infantita school to the parish of San Isidro Labrador, where the Mass that ends the Triduum commemorating the hundred years since the enthronement of the Blessed Sacrament was then celebrated.
The Blessed Sacrament arrived at the parish on October 31, 1926 from the hand of Father Federico Salvador. On the same date, the Divina Infantita arrived, patron saint of the municipality, patron saint of the Local Police and honorary mayor.
