The City Council has today hosted a plenary session in which the composition of the 84 polling stations distributed throughout the municipality has been designated. 27 polling stations will be opened and 756 members will participate in the polling stations, elected by public lottery, between holders and alternates. 492 voters will be able to exercise their right to vote for the first time.
The City Council today hosted the Ordinary Municipal Plenary, the first of the points addressed being the election by lot of the members of the polling stations for the General Elections to be held on November 29, 2026. It has been carried out among the 48,540 electors with the right to vote in the municipality, of which 24,508 are women and 24,032 are men.
The draw, as usual, has been carried out by means of a computer procedure and has determined the members of the 84 polling stations of the electoral sections that the municipality has, which will be distributed in a total of 27 polling stations. Today, therefore, the 756 members who will oversee the democratic process at these tables have been elected, 252 holders and 504 alternates.
The population entities with the largest number of voters are El Ejido, with 26,857, Ensenada de San Miguel, with 8,838, and Santa María del Águila, with 4,510. These three entities account for more than 82% of the electorate.
Those who have been appointed will receive over the next few days the notification at their home, as well as an instruction manual and all the information necessary for the task they are going to perform.
On the website of the National Institute of Statistics (http:/www.ine.es) information on the electoral census is available with the data of interest for this consultation, current census, claims, vote by mail, deadlines, legal regulations and counts of registrants. All voters can consult the data of the polling stations and premises. In addition, those voters who have a digital certificate can check their registration data in the electoral register.
It should be noted that, at the end of the plenary session, the municipal corporation held a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the train accident in the Toledo town of Urda.
